MINIATURE LEATHERBOUND VAMPYRE BOOKS

Standard

My obsession with vampyres continues to haunt me every day. I have plunged into the world of miniature books and making Hobo Journals. I’ve made quite a few mistakes with the leather bookbinding (especially working at such a small scale) but I am improving day-by-day.

Here are the first three miniature vampyre books I am currently working on (slowly, but surely)

These books are roughly 1″ by 2″ and 1.5″ x 2″. The books do open and each page is hand-aged and were sewn into signatures. The brass/bronze book corner protectors finish off the books beautifully (tiny ones are almost impossible to find). Some books will have leather bands with metal clasps or will be chained with miniature locks and keys.

Each book will be filled with dozens, if not hundreds, of illustrations, photos, and writing (that can be read).

Each image is carefully researched, formatted, printed and cut by hand (a laborious process to say the least). But I do love doing it. There will be handwritten notations in the books (I have the perfect nibs for doing tiny medieval or old-fashioned writing).

So, we’ll see where this new creative venture takes me. I’ll try to keep this blog up-to-date with the progress that I make.
